Today, the experts here at Signature Maids will give you the fast and easy tips to a clean house. Of course, should you need their help in getting the job done, the Signature Maids team is always ready and completely reliable when coming to your aid.
Step 1
During this process and moving forward, you’ll want to complete each room before going on to the next one. You’ll also want to develop and maintain a routine that works for you, because once you do, you’ll be able to get the job done well every time. First and foremost on your list is keeping all your cleaning supplies in a handy tote or cleaning caddy, ready to go and easily mobile to get the job done quickly. Always remember to dust from the top down, so any dust you miss will settle to the floor where it can be easily swept or vacuumed up. Depending on the size of your home, attaching an extension cord to your vacuum will extend your reach and save time often spent unplugging, moving, plugging, unplugging, etc. – you get the idea!
Step 2 – The Entryway
If your entryway has an occasional table, dust it first, clearing away any clutter gathered there. Next, pick up the shoes which are stacked there using a shoe corral, tote bag, basket, or bin. Lastly, vacuum the walls and baseboards, using the proper attachments, before doing the floor and area rug.
Step 3 – The Family Room
Dusting comes first, top to bottom. Use an old pillowcase for fan blades – slide the case over the blades and then pull the case off, toward you, to catch all the dust. When you’re done, dump the dust and debris and wash your pillowcase for next time. Use a microfiber cloth going over large surfaces like open shelving, tables, lamps and light fixtures, electronics, and pictures. Now, grab a lint roller and go over your upholstered furnishings as well as curtains, drapes, and lampshades to remover pet hair, dirt, and debris. Finally, vacuum over the floor to clean away any stray dust, dirt, pet hair, or debris.
Step 4 – The Kitchen
This is not an exercise in deep cleaning your kitchen, but rather a concentrated effort of spot cleaning. Grab your favorite cleaner, along with a wipe or a towel, and clean away any unsightly spots you see on the table, countertop, stove, refrigerator, etc. Move on to the sink, washing up any dishes that you find and cleaning away food debris. Next spray with your cleaner and wipe it clean. Now, look around for any remaining streaks, stains, or spots around the room, and clean them up. Finally, wipe down the trashcan.
Step 5 – The Bathroom
The easiest way to get the job done in the bathroom is to put your favorite cleaner to work. Spray your sink, tub, shower, toilet, mirror, etc. with the bathroom cleaner of your choice allowing it to help you get the job done, loosening residue and grime while you wipe down the countertops. Return to the previously sprayed areas, beginning with the mirror, then the sink, and all around the room. The toilet comes last in this rotation. First, clean the bowl with your toilet brush, and then clean the tank, seat, and base with disposable antibacterial wipes. Lastly wipe the light switches and plates.
Now, all that’s left is to sit down, relax, and wait for your guests to arrive, knowing they will be greeted by a fresh, clean, home.
